The Historical Research International Inc. company offers specialized historical research for clients with a particular focus on corporate history, Black Canadian history, history of organizations and Government agencies, as well as public history for museums, archives, and the visual documentation of historic structures. We strive to provide the most detailed, thorough, and accurate historical research.
Historical Research
In-depth historical research entails the engagement of records stored in archives, libraries (academic and public), and research centers, as well as digitized records available in online databases.
At HRI, we ensure that all relevant records are researched in detail to ensure an accurate history is documented. Geographically, HRI is very pleased to offer historical research in Canada, England, and the Caribbean.

Corporate History
Corporate history is an integral aspect of a company's profile. It is a specialized field of business history that showcases the successes, growth, and legacy of the company.

HRI will use public records, archival sources, and select records of the company's milestones to chronicle the history of the company. Ultimately, HRI will expertly research and document the history of your business, with a narrative that accurately tells the story of your company.
Public History
HRI specializes in research for use in Public History Programs (PHP). For PHP, our services are geared towards museums, archives, government agencies, organizations, and Historical Societies among other agencies and groups. We offer our services as consultants for in-person exhibitions and for the curation of web exhibits.
HRI researchers have over twenty years of experience conducting research and are knowledgeable in the research for, and use in the preparation of Public History projects.
Black Canadian History
Black Canadian history can be traced to the early 1600s with the arrival of Mathieu Da Costa. Canadian archives include records of African enslavement, prejudicial policies, successes and communities. From the 20th century, there have also been celebrations of this diverse community throughout Canada, and persons of African descent have excelled in every area in Canada. February was officially designated as Black History Month in all the Provinces in Canada in 2008. At the HRI, we will conduct research on Black history in Canada from the earliest times to the present day for Government Agencies, Organizations, Historical Societies, and Companies. New Companies
Document your new business from the beginning! It is important to record the conception, origins, and early days of your company. The meaning of your logo and development strategy are also key components. HRI will curate the history of your company and produce your annual reports. We will grow with you and update your history at each milestone.
In addition, for new companies, we will offer affiliate services in Digital Capture and Records Management.
Visual Documentation
For the historic structures which are no longer habitable, it is crucial that contemporary visuals of the buildings are documented before they disappear. These buildings are important to the history of cities, towns, villages, and communities. HRI visually documents these buildings for posterity.
We combine with this service, the sourcing of historical images of the buildings in their best form, that are available in archives and research institutions. These images may also have been published in historical books, journals, or newspapers.
